Join Indian Navy Recruitment 2023 notification announced for the posts of SSC Officers in various disciplines. There are 242 vacancies available for the posts. Candidates with the qualification of B.E/B.Tech/BCA/B.Sc /MCA/M.Sc/M. Tech is eligible to apply for the job. About Indian Navy: The Indian Navy is the Naval Branch of the Indian Armed Forces under the supreme commander called President of India. The Merchant Marine is the sister service of the Indian Navy to safeguards the nations. The Maratha emperor Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is the father of the Indian Navy. He started the Maratha Empire in 1674 after that it established the naval force called Indian Navy. The First Squadron of fighting ships called East India Company’s marine arrived on 5 September 1612. The primary objective of the Indian Navy is to identify the threat or any other issues in and from the sea. Indian Navy has 67,228 personnel, 137 ships, and 235 aircraft at present. It has its own defense operations to protect the nation from enemy forces’ territory and trade. Objectives of the Indian Navy:-

  • The Indian Navy has to prevent the nation against war or intervention.
  • In case of war, the navy has to make a decision quickly and confidently.
  • Provide security for India’s territorial integrity and citizens from the sea border.
  • The Indian navy is the safeguard of India’s mercantile marine, maritime trade, and maritime security.

Executive Branch:

General Service [GS(X)]: B.E/B.Tech in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks.

Air Traffic Controller (ATC)/Naval Air Operations Officer (NAOO)/Pilot:

  • BE/B. Tech in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks.
  • Candidate must have 60% aggregate marks in classes X and XII and a minimum of 60% marks in English in class X or class XII).

Logistics:

  • BE/B. Tech in any discipline with First Class or
  • MBA with First Class, or
  • B.Sc / B.Com / B.Sc.(IT) with First class along with PG Diploma in Finance / Logistics / Supply Chain Management / Material Management, or
  • MCA / M.Sc (IT) with First Class

Naval Armament Inspectorate Cadre (NAIC):

  • BE/B.Tech with minimum 60% marks in Mechanical / Mechanical with Automation / Electrical / Electrical & Electronics / Electronics / Micro Electronics / Instrumentation / Electronics & Communication / Electronics & Tele Communication /Instrumentation & Control / Control Engineering / Production / Industrial Production / Industrial Engineering / Applied Electronics & Instrumentation/ Electronics & Instrumentation / Information Technology / Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Computer Application / Metallurgy / Metallurgical / Chemical/ Material Science / Aero Space / Aeronautical Engineering. OR
  • Post Graduate degree in Electronics / Physics.
  • Candidate must have 60% aggregate marks in classes X and XII and a minimum of 60% marks in English in class X or class XII.

Education Branch:

  • 60% marks in M.Sc. (Maths/Operational Research) with Physics in B.Sc.
  • 60% marks in M.Sc. (Physics/Applied Physics) with Maths in B.Sc.
  • 60% marks in M.Sc. Chemistry with Physics in B.Sc.
  • BE / B.Tech with minimum 60% marks in Mechanical Engineering.
  • BE / B.Tech with minimum 60% marks (Electrical / Electronics & Communication Engg).
  • 60% marks in M-Tech from a recognized University/Institute in any of the following disciplines.
  • M Tech in Thermal / Production Engineering / Machine Design.
  • M Tech in Communication System Engg / Electronics & Communication Engg / VLSI / Power System Engg.
  • Note: Candidates applying for the Education entry must have scored a minimum of 60% marks in class X and class XII and a minimum of 60% marks in English in class X or class XII.

  • Electrical Branch [General Service (GS)]:  BE / B.Tech with minimum 60% marks in (i) Electrical (ii) Electronics (iii) Electrical & Electronics (iv) Electronics & Communication (v) Electronics & Tele Communication (vi) Tele Communication (vii) Applied Electronics and Communication (AEC) (viii) Instrumentation (ix) Electronics & Instrumentation (x) Instrumentation & Control (xi) Applied Electronics & Instrumentation (xii) Power Engineering (xiii) Power Electronics.

Note:  Candidates who have graduated/post-graduated or are in the final year (regular/integrated) with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA are also eligible to apply.

For NCC Candidates:  NCC ‘C’ certificate holders will be given a relaxation of 5% in cut-off marks towards shortlisting for SSB subject to meeting the following criteria:-

  • Having NCC ‘C’ certificate of Naval/Army/Air Wing with minimum ‘B’ Grade.
  • Served for not less than two academic years in the Senior Division, Naval/Army/Air Wing of the NCC.
  • ‘C’ certificate should not be dated prior to 01 Jun 2020.

Selection Process:

  • The selection process is based on merit & includes an Interview.
  • Shortlisting of applications will be based on normalized marks obtained by the candidates in the qualifying degree.
  • Candidates selected in the final merit list will be required to submit proof of completing the qualifying degree with a minimum of 60% marks by sending an email to the address officer@navy.gov.in.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be informed about their selection for the SSB interview through e-mail or SMS (provided by candidates in their application form).
  • Candidates are advised not to change their e-mail/ mobile number till the selection process is over and to check their inbox and spam folder periodically.
  • Merit list will be prepared based on SSB marks for all entries as per availability of vacancies and medical clearance for respective entries.
  • Candidates declared fit in the medical examination would be appointed as per the availability of vacancies in the entry.

Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the job online mode in their official website from 29 April 2023 to 14 May 2023.

Note:

  • Candidates are to take a printout of the application and carry it while appearing for the SSB interview.
  • The probation period for SSC (NAIC) Officers is three years and for officers of other branches/cadres is two years.
  • The probation period will commence from the date of grant of the rank of Sub Lt and will terminate after three years for SSC(NAIC) and two years for other branches/cadres or on completion of initial training (whichever is later).
  • During probation, the officers are liable to be discharged in case of unsatisfactory performance at any stage.
  • Only unmarried candidates are eligible for training.
  • Tenure of Commission: Selected candidates will be granted Short Service Commission initially for 10 years extendable by a maximum of 04 years in 02 terms (02 years + 02 years), subject to service requirements, performance, medical eligibility, and willingness of candidates.
  • Vacancies mentioned are tentative and may be changed depending on the availability of training slots.
