Data Entry Operator Vacancy

Cheruthuruthy (Thrissur): There is a vacancy for the post of Data Entry Operator at Kalamandalam Deemed University as part of the library computerization project.

Recruitment will be through an interview.

The interview will be held on April 24, 2025, at 2:30 PM at the Kalamandalam office.

Educational Qualifications & Salary details

• Library Science Degree/(Bachelor’s or Master’s in Library and Information Science).

Technical Knowledge & Skills:

• Understanding of Library Terminology and Practices: Knowledge of library cataloging standards, such as:
• MARC (Machine-Readable Cataloging) records: Basic understanding of MARC format and its use in cataloging.
• Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) or Library of Congress Classification (LCC) systems for organizing library materials.
• Familiarity with Koha Interface:

Data Entry: Ability to enter bibliographic, patron, and circulation data into Koha’s database.
Cataloging: Understanding how to catalog new items, including books, e-books, journals, and multimedia materials, into Koha.

Basic IT Skills:

• Operating Systems: Comfort with using computers, file management, and navigation of the Koha software.
• Software Tools: Familiarity with basic office software (e.g., MS Excel, Word) and basic troubleshooting of hardware and software issues that may arise.

Koha Administration (Optional):

• Basic knowledge of the Koha administrator interface for managing user permissions, system settings, and configuring library policies.

Salary Details

• DTP Operator daily wages Rs.755/- (GO.P No.29/2021/Fin Dated 11-02-2021)
